Let the games begin

They let us out on our own and we went by rickshaw Aga Khan Palace where Gandhi was interned at the beginning of world war two. Here's Wendie enjoying  the ride.

The Aga Khan Palace

The best part was the wedding party we saw in the street. They had a band and the groom sitting in a silver plated carriage and dancing on the street it was very fun.

We were properly welcomed to sangam with incense and flowers.

And we arrive

Frankfurt Airport was an opportunity to stretch our legs. We walked at least a quarter of a mile to get the train to change terminals.

There are bikes for airport personnel to ride.

And cots for weary travelers.

Misty had a pretzel and beer to celebrate her return to Germany.

After many hours in transit more than 26, wo arrived at Sangam and were greeted in the early dawn hours by a cacophony of birds.

My favorite road sign was 'Observe lane descipline'.  I'm not sure what that means, truck were all over the 3 lane highway, trying to pass each other going up hill. Our driver casually wove his way pass them. An easy I eventful trip.

Almost there

In anticipation of the coming journey I am having Indian oatmeal. It's masala  flavored, spicy with carrots and onions. Real vegetables the package says. I'll have to figure out how to make it home.

I am ready!

My bags are packed. Perhaps too early, I keep finding more things to put in them. Our agenda is set.
Week One: “Essence of India” program at Sangam- the Girl Scout/Girl Guide  World Center in Pune India. I am hoping dancing is on the program.
Week Two and Three: Custom Tour including Varanassi, Delhi, Agra (the Taj Mahal), Jaipur,  potential tiger viewing , Udaipur and Mumbai.  It makes me a bit tired reading about it.
I am not making any promises about keeping up with this blog, I am traveling light with just my phone.  But I am not going back to work after I return so I can do one big post then.
